I have a PhD in computational biology and do research at a cancer center. When I am not behind a computer, I am living my best life outside. I enjoy backpacking, bikepacking, trail running, volunteering, and continuing my education as a master naturalist.
Growing up, my fondest memories were of those blissful family vacations spent amidst the towering peaks of North Carolina. Those mountain escapades may have ended with my childhood, but the spirit of adventure they ignited within me never faded. Despite the demands of graduate school, building a career, and navigating single parenthood, I held onto those cherished memories, yearning to reclaim the thrill of exploration. Now, as I embrace this new chapter of my life, I prioritize adventure at every turn, dedicating myself wholeheartedly to rediscovering the joy of exploration and creating new memories that will last a lifetime.
My favorite adventures thus far have been living in the Gila Wilderness for the summer to volunteer as a backcountry ranger and car camping across Costa Rica.
